Paddy Briggs worked for the Oil Company Shell for 37 years, retiring in 2002 to pursue other interests. He is now a writer, journalist and blogger – specialising in sport, politics, the Arts, pensions and his professional business subject of brand and reputation management. Paddy’s biography of the Kent and West Indies cricketer John Shepherd - John Shepherd - The Loyal Cavalier - was published in June 2009. Paddy is a member of the Sports Journalists Association and the Cricket Writers’ Club. Paddy has a monthly column in the pensions magazine Pensions Age (“Confessions of an Amateur Trustee”) and is one of two pensioner-elected trustees of the £13 billion Shell Contributory Pension Fund.
